New Edward Ewer (Jr) article

The National Library of Australia digital newspaper project (newspapers.nla.gov.au) has started rolling out the Queanbeyan Age (near Yass and Canberra in NSW). I'll start looking and rolling out articles.

The first relates to the brutal assault on my ancestory Edward Ewer (Jr, 1827-1884), born to parents Edward EWER (a convict) and his wife Ann nee EDWARDS (she the daughter of two convicts). This article reveals more details about the attack alluded to in other articles (http://thehistoryofmatt.blogspot.com/2010/01/edward-ewer-1827-1884.html) and it is clear from the article, and the fact that he died the following year, that he suffered from his injuries for some period.

Queanbeyan Age
Friday 28 September 1883

On Saturday evening a murderous assault was committed at Bathurst by an old shepherd named Brown, on a man named Edward Ewer, whose head was smashed and his arms broken, by the blows of an iron bar. Brown accused Ewer of robbing him. The latter is dying in the hospital. Brown has been arrested, and remanded for a week.
