Death certificate of Thomas Uriah Banfield (1867-1942)

Thomas Uriah BANFIELD was baptised in Plaxtol, Kent in 1867, to parents Thomas BANFIELD and Mary Ann nee COMBER. He married Ellen Harrington in 1888 in Kent (http://thehistoryofmatt.blogspot.com/2010/07/ellen-harrington-abt-1858-1907.html), and they moved to Australia shortly afterwards. While Frank HALL doesn't refer to how they got to Australia, his brother Joseph Gerard HALL wrote in his memoirs that Thomas BANFIELD came to Australia worked as ship's crew, and that Ellen followed by paid passage shortly afterwards. At any rate they arrived by December 1889 (the year after they married) as Mary Ellen's birth was registered in Hay in 1890 (she was born on 27 December). A son Edward followed in 1892 (died the same year) and Mary Ellen died in 1907 (http://thehistoryofmatt.blogspot.com/2010/07/ellen-harrington-abt-1858-1907.html).

Thomas Uriah, a widower, ultimately established a farm near Lake Cargellico N.S.W. with his brother John Frederick BANFIELD (1876-1948). He died there in 1948.
